Easter is here and it will be a very busy time in town. We are fortunate to have some amazing guests to entertain us during this dynamic weekend.
Bianca will read the first chapter ; which will take around 5 minutes, every half hour or so. There is a rhyme in the book which she plans to get the kids involved in reciting to make it interactive, and she will also provide colouring in sheets of the characters and pencils for the kids.
Herbert Peabody is a farmer who grows fruit and vegetables in his big, big vegetable patch at Mulberry Tree Farm. When his niece Clementine and nephew Digby come to stay for the school holidays, Herbie can't understand why they know so little about vegetables. But there's a bigger problem: Theo Knead-a- lot's famous bakery is under threat and he needs Herbie's help. Learning important lessons along the way Herbie, Clementine and Digby discover that with some hard work and a little bit of magic, extraordinary things can happen.
Bianca C. Ross is a small-time farmer with almost a decade of international experience in advertising agencies and ten years brand management experience in food companies across children’s products. She observed a disconnect between children and their understanding of where food comes from, so conducted her own research amongst parents about the creation of a character that teaches the importance of vegetables in a fun way. After a positive response, Herbert Peabody was created. Herbert Peabody and his Extraordinary Vegetable Patch is the first book in the series.
